NOK 4.8 billion in residential sales

Veidekke sold a total of 615 homes during the second quarter of 2016. Sales remain high in both Norway and Sweden.

Veidekke's housing development activity at the end of the second quarter of 2016 is high in both Norway and Sweden, with good sales and more homes being built. In total, 615 homes were sold at a value of NOK 3.1 billion during the quarter. In comparison, 451 homes were sold in Q1. Overall, Veidekke has sold homes for NOK 4.8 billion in 2016.

In Sweden, activities are high, particularly in Gothenburg and Greater Stockholm. In Norway, activities are at their highest in Oslo and Trondheim.

"Stable, high sales in both Norway and Sweden mean that the number of homes being built has increased noticeably," says Group CEO Arne Giske. "It is particularly pleasing that we are experiencing good sales in many different locations and that we can see that we have excellent projects for which commencement of construction is rapidly achieved. However, we would have liked to have more projects ready for sale in the Oslo area to satisfy the great demand for housing here," Giske says.

The number of homes under construction is 2,877, with Veidekke's share being 2,181. The corresponding figure for the second quarter of 2015 was 1,874, of which Veidekke's share was 1,381. The overall sales ratio for projects under construction is 87 %. The overall sales value in the quarter was NOK 3.1 billion, of which Veidekke's share was NOK 2.4 billion.
