“Environmentally and climate-friendly projects are something we greatly appreciate being able to carry out. It is particularly nice to have a new customer in Skeie Eiendom with such a strong and clear commitment to sustainable and innovative construction projects. We look forward to a mutually good collaboration and thank you as nicely as we can for the project and the trust,” says district manager Atle Monan in Veidekke Bygg Agder.
The project has been named Lumber 5 and will be approximately 6,600 m2 spread over seven floors. The building will be certified according to the environmental standard BREEAM-NOR Very Good with energy class A. Emphasis is placed on circular and sustainable use of materials and great flexibility in the floor plans. The supporting structure will be made of glued laminated timber, the facade will be clad with pine heartwood and there will be solar panels on the roof.
The first floor will contain a canteen, laboratory, workshop, warehouse and auditorium for approximately 60 people, while the second floor will be a gym with changing rooms. The remaining floors are planned to have flexible office space that can be adapted to the tenants.
“We continue the construction of sustainable buildings and have emphasized Veidekke's experience with this and the company's implementation ability. This is building number five in our development of Lumber Teknopark, which will accommodate a total of 58,000 m2 of commercial space,” says CEO Tom Bredesen of Skeie Eiendom.
Construction work will begin immediately with completion planned for the summer of 2026. The contract will be included in Veidekke's order reserve for the first quarter of 2025.
