“We would like to offer our profuse thanks to E C Dahls Eiendom for this commission. Following our excellent partnership during the pre-project phase, we are really looking forward to getting started on building work on the project. We want to prioritise customers who believe in involving us from an early stage and who are ambitious when it comes to sustainability since that enables us to meet our own targets too. We think it is particularly important that the project will be certified in accordance with the BREEAM-NOR standard to an Outstanding standard, that it will meet FutureBuilt’s criteria for circular building upon refurbishment, and that it has its own defined social, economic and environmental goals in relation to the final product,” says Torgeir Wiig, Regional Director at Veidekke Bygg Trøndelag.
Among other things, Veidekke will replace building facades, refurbish offices from the first to the fifth floor, build a new sixth floor for restaurant operations with a roof garden on top accessible to the public, construct a glass elevator from the rear courtyard to the restaurant/roof, and re-open the old rear alley structure during the course of construction. The retail stores at street level will remain in place and open throughout the construction period.
“E C Dahls Eiendom is very pleased to have Veidekke on board as our partner and contractor for this project, and we are certain that together we will meet out ambitious sustainability targets,” says Svein Erik Nordbotten, CEO of E C Dahls Eiendom AS.
Construction works will begin during November, with scheduled completion in September 2024. The commission is included in Veidekke’s order book for Q3 2022.
