"This is a great project in line with Ålesund Hospital’s development plan. It contributes to better conditions for users of the hospital and safeguards the universal pedestrian link between the new public transport hub along Borgundvegen to the hospital's main entrance. The building’s main structure will consist of columns and slabs made of low-carbon concrete elements. These are supplied by Veidekke Prefab, which recently won Veidekke's Scandinavian environmental award for supplying the most climate-friendly concrete products as standard. The façade is of perforated steel sheets in combination with fields of glass and open areas with railings. The parking facility should be perceived as inviting, safe and navigable, and despite its significant volume, it will be adapted to the surrounding buildings and landscape.

Construction work is set to start in February 2024 with completion scheduled for November 2025. The commission is included in Veidekke’s order book for the fourth quarter.
