“We really appreciate being able to extend the good partnership in the project after we were commissioned with the first construction stage in August. This is much needed new housing in Oslo at a time when far too few housing projects are being initiated. We are of course also very pleased to build more homes for one of our best customers and achieve continuity in the project,” says department manager Kaare Gilhus with Veidekke Bygg Oslo.
The second construction stage consists of 139 apartments in a 10 to 14-storey building, in addition an underground floor with storage rooms, technical rooms and parking facilities for bicycles and cars. The building will have a common roof terrace with a footbridge over to a larger roof terrace on the neighbouring building as well as a large common garden that is sheltered from the surroundings. The Grønvoll development will have Fyrstikktorget as its closest neighbour with one of the city’s best public transport offerings.
“We are incredibly proud that the Grønvoll quarter has become one of the most popular residential projects in the capital and that the second construction stage remains the best-selling building project in Norway so far this year. Now we are delighted with the sales start we had recently, where we sold over half of the apartments that were put up for sale.,” says Henning Wettre Hanevold, CEO of Nordr Norge AS.
Construction work starts at the start quite immediately with handover scheduled for the late summer of 2027.
The commission with this second construction stage will be entered into Veidekke’s order book for the fourth quarter. The contract between Veidekke and Nordr for the entire Grønnvoll quarter was concluded in June and amounts to approximately NOK 1.3 billion excl. VAT.
