New trains and more frequent departures require higher capacity from the power supply to the railway network, and now the Asker railway from Sandvika westwards will be upgraded. The commission awarded to Veidekke will contribute to greater regularity to the benefit of the many train passengers in the years ahead.
“We are grateful for the confidence shown in us and for yet another great commission for Bane NOR. The work will be carried out at night so that there will be minimal disruptions for passengers on this very busy section, which means high demands on planning and safety. The commission will involve a high degree of interdisciplinarity, which suits us well,” says Magnus S. Kristensen, Manager of Veidekke Bane.
“Bane NOR is very satisfied with the competition and looks forward to a good collaboration. We will emphasize the importance of HSE at all stages, not least in relation to everything to do with live installations”, says project manager Rune Olsen at Bane NOR.
Construction starts in February, with completion scheduled for 2025. The commission is included in Veidekke’s order book for the fourth quarter of 2022.
