“We appreciate the commission and are looking forward to extending the good partnership with Bane Nor Eiendom after an excellent interaction phase. We are on track with the new terminal building and a large office building at Trondheim S, both of which will be completed before the end of the year. This makes it a good fit for us to proceed with the next construction stage,” says Regional Director Torgeir Wiig with Veidekke Bygg Trøndelag.

The station quarter that Veidekke now will build extends across two blocks with a total of 38,000 m2 of space at the train station in Trondheim. The commission includes the construction of 5,500 m2 of retail and office space towards Gryta, a new regional covered bus terminal with direct access to the central station and a public bicycle hotel for 500 bicycles for travellers. On the basement floor there will be parking for 140 cars. From the third level there will be two residential quarters with 234 apartments in several buildings from three to six storeys in height. There are high ambitions in terms of sustainability, and the project will be certified in accordance with the BREEAM-NOR Very Good environmental standard.

“Trondheim S is one of Norway’s most ambitious hub projects, creating a modern and vibrant district with seamless mobility. With new homes, workplaces and better public transport solutions, we are strengthening the city’s accessibility and contributing to sustainable urban development. We are pleased to have Veidekke on board in this extensive project,” says Project Director Dag Haugdal with Bane NOR Eiendom.

Construction works start after the summer holiday with planned completion in two stages at the start and towards the end of 2028 respectively. This contract is included in Veidekke's order book for the first quarter.
