Agnes Boligutvikling AS has awarded Veidekke Entreprenør the contract to build the first stage of the spectacular residential project Sjøparken with 56 flats partly on reclaimed islands in the sea. This is a turnkey contract valued at NOK 194 million, excluding VAT.
Following 11 years of development, Mayor Rune Høiseth of Larvik municipality could finally lay down the cornerstone for Sjøparken Agnes in Stavern. Agnes Boligutvikling and Veidekke have collaborated for several years on achieving sufficient financial sustainability for the project, and a mutual desire to identify the best solutions has finally led to realization.
"It has been particularly demanding to find the best building methods for filling in the sea. However, we have found suitable methods for the project through good cooperation with the builder, consultants and Veidekke's expertise," says project developer Roar Kristiansen of Veidekke Entreprenør.
"There is a challenging and exciting period ahead that we are all looking forward to. We will also handle the option processes for the apartment buyers on behalf of Agnes Boligutvikling. We have skilled associates who have helped numerous apartment buyers with such processes previously," Veidekke's project manager Øyvind Styrvold says.
Veidekke has started digging and filling works, project planning is in full swing and start up of concrete works is planned for March 2016. The entire first stage is to be ready for occupation by the summer holidays of 2017.
The contract is included in Veidekke's order backlog for Q3.
