The buildings comprise up to twelve floors, with an inner courtyard and commercial premises at the lower levels. When construction starts in Q3 2019, the garage is the first to be built. Construction will then pause while the City of Stockholm completes the street, after which the actual buildings will be erected.
“We are thrilled to be entrusted with this project and look forward to a close and involved collaboration with SKB. Kvarteret Lysosomen is Veidekke’s fifth project in Hagastaden. We have confidence in our presence there and in our relations with the city and the surrounding property owners’ ongoing projects,” says Gunilla Lindgren, department manager at Veidekke Bygg Bostäder Stockholm.
The Hagastaden district in Stockholm is planned for completion by 2025, with approx. 50,000 jobs and 6,000 residential units. Hagastaden comprises educational institutions, companies, research institutes, hospitals, cafes and restaurants, cultural and service buildings and parks – including one of Stockholm's largest park initiatives, connecting Hagastaden with Hagaparken. The metro station Hagastaden, with four access points, will be located on the new "Gula linjen" (Yellow Line), which will connect Odenplan with Arenastaden in Solna.
