Veidekke's subsidiary Norske Stålbygg AS has signed a contract with Anthon B Nilsen Eiendom AS to build a combined warehouse and logistics building for Staples at Lahaugmoen outside Oslo. The value of the contract is NOK 173 million excluding VAT.
"We are very proud to once again be selected as partner by Anton B Nilsen Eiendom AS. The contract is a perfect fit in our strategy of developing and erecting non-residential buildings under turnkey contracts. We look forward to going ahead with the job and look forward to renewed good collaboration," says general manager Terje Kaasa Larsen of Norske Stålbygg.
The building, which will have a gross area of 26,000 m2 overall, will be erected at Lahaugmoen in Skedsmo municipality. The former army camp is currently undergoing a transformation into a new, attractive and centrally located industrial area. Staples, which is the world's largest office supply chain store, will lease the building to supply their 22 outlets in Norway.
Norske Stålbygg will undertake the project in a joint venture with Veidekke's building and construction operation in Oslo.
Work starts in September, and the building will be ready for use in March 2017.
