Veidekke Entreprenør AS has signed a contract with the Norwegian Public Roads Administration to build a new route for county road 7 from Øystese to Nes in Hardanger. The value of the contract is NOK 112 million excluding VAT.
The contract covers a 1.2 km long two-lane road tunnel through Børveneset and two approach zones including roundabout totalling approximately 0.5 km. Concrete portals will be built at both ends of the tunnel, and the contract includes all work in the tunnel and approach zones. Veidekke's contract is the first of the so-called "Kvamma package", which includes nine sub-projects and initiatives on county roads 7 and 49 (formerly Highways 7 and 49) in Kvam municipality in Hordaland.
The contract is a turnkey contract. Work will commence already in July 2010 and is scheduled for completion in September 2011.
